I am an adult with a pierced septum, and I usually sleep on my belly/side, face turned one way or the other. This causes my sinuses to not drain properly when I sleep, and during allergy/dust season, I usually wake up in the morning unable to breathe through one nostril or the other. I’ve tried manual bulb syringes to clear my nose and they’re incredibly painful to use with my nose jewelry. This snot suction device has really nice soft silicone tips, and is comfortable to use, even with a septum piercing without removing my jewelry (I wear a circular barbell custom bent to fit my nose; ‘horse shoe ring’. I haven’t taken it out once in ten years), and in combination with saline nasal spray, I can quickly clear out my non-functioning nostril in the morning. Comfortably, I must add, as a person much older than an infant who can speak coherent English to describe my experience. The lights and music are cute too, even though I’m not a small child. Overall, great product.Edited to add: A tiny bristly nipple brush, such as a Dr. Brown’s nipple brush, (what I use), makes cleaning easier. And, it also seems like cleaning is easier when the snot suction device is used in conjunction with saline nasal spray (mucous thinner and easier to wash away). While I was camping this week, in a pretty dry dusty area, this snot suction device, with its super soft comfy silicone tips, and saline nasal spray were my best friends when I got up every morning. Even with potable water shut off (due to covid precautions) and somewhat limited water that I brought to clean dishes and hands and snot removal devices, I was able to clean the cleanable parts with very little water. All it took was a slow dribble of water to get everything clean. I do recommend cleaning right away after use for ease of cleaning; no dried crustified gunk to try to scrub away. Also, once you’ve taken it apart and put it back together once or twice, it becomes like riding a bike in terms of disassembly and reassembly. Great product.Edited again to add: If you are greater than two years old, definitely use the >2years tip. Much easier to target your gooey nose spots. Also, the attachments meant for tiny babies don’t work well for adults; they pop off when you try to manipulate the exact location of suction in your nose.Still an awesome product; still great for adults with pierced noses, but if you’re over two years old, use the tip intended for those who are greater than two years old. Also, it turns out, gel nasal moisturizer and/or gel nasal spray is way nicer to use with this than the thin liquid kind of saline nasal spray.
